Let me start by saying one thing, the odds of being alive are 400 trillion to one. 400 TRILLION! Every morning, I take about a minute (or however long I need) to go over things I’m grateful for, and also this fact. After chugging my water that’s waiting for me on my bedside table, I’m ready to take on the day.
I wasn’t always like this, though. Before I made practicing gratitude a regular habit, there were days I would be in a mood I didn’t like and couldn’t get out of it. I still have those days, but they are far and few between.
Even while practicing gratitude on a daily basis, there are times when I am frustrated and stressed. I’ve talked about this in past blog posts, but when things aren’t ‘going my way,’ I view it as an opportunity for growth. When things are running smoothly, I typically don’t take the time to see how I can improve, and ‘failure’ as some may like to call it is the perfect opportunity for me to take a look into what I’m currently doing and make it better. This mindset allows me to get through challenges, and simultaneously allow me to grow.
Each day presents us with challenges and decisions, and the way you frame things in your mind helps decide whether you’ll let these challenges get in your way or use them as an opportunity to better yourself. My philosophy, LOL.
