Generally, I live a fairly healthy lifestyle. On occasion I’ll have a few extra glasses of wine or cake, but for the most part I lead a healthy lifestyle. Here are a few daily healthy habits I live by:
Workout 4-5 times a week
My workouts are a mix of run/walk sessions, pilates, strength training and some yoga. I workout not only for my physical health, but mental health. To me, it’s key for maintaining a positive attitude.
Eat organic fruits & vegetables
*Knock on wood* I haven’t been sick in years, and I attribute that mostly to my eating habits. YEARS ago I cut out fast food and soda (I’d probably get sick if I ate any drive-thru). My diet consists mostly of salads, nutritive bowls, some pasta (obviously) and meat a few times a month. I try my best to cook so I know exactly what’s going into my food, but sometimes that’s just not realistic so I’ll find somewhere with healthy options. Thankfully, Los Angeles has tons of healthy options, so it’s never really a struggle.
Drink tons of water
I’ll admit, up until a few weeks ago, I was THE WORST at drinking water. I’m talking, like 1 glass of water a day. No wonder I needed 3 cups of coffee! I made it a goal this year to start drinking more water, and now I’m obsessed. Water gives me so much energy, mental clarity AND I don’t have to drink as much coffee. The hype is real: water is truly a game changer. I try and drink a gallon of water a day.
Distant toxic people
This isn’t a daily habit, but one worth mentioning. Our minds and bodies are so connected, and having toxic people in our lives can have an affect on our health. Toxic people don’t have any room in my life and I make it a point to keep positive, ambitious and supportive people in my life.
Self-care & Sleep
Self-care is something I take very seriously. With being a new business owner and having to manage so many things/people, I make it a point to take *extra* care for myself. Because no money/job is worth bad health. Whether it’s a massage, acupuncture, facial, binging a Netflix series or just disconnecting from work, I’ll take at least an hour a day, completely for myself. And no matter how busy my day is, I’ll be sure to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep.
